.300 or .338 win mags ?

Are you a handloader?

If not, the 300WinMag ammo is easier to get at alot more places than the 338. I didn't check, but there are probably lots more factory loadings for the 300 as well.




 
300 mag is MORE than enough for moose.

If you never plan to hunt anything bigger (ie: alaskan brown, polar bear, whale), it will fit the bill perfectly.

As mentioned, easier to find factory ammo (cheaper) as well...
