300 prc

it doesn't, but tell me why go with a 300 Win Mag over a 300 PRC?

IF you reload...
Better brass at this stage, every high end maker makes 300Win brass, they haven't all jumped on the PRC wagon just yet. More powder, if you load to same pressure, more velocity, more range. Despite the current distaste for belted mags, they are still some of the strongest case designs invented. Only the 338Lap/300 Norma with it's ultra heavy brass/head design really matches the belted mags. Heavy 30cal pills definitely pack a heavy punch wayyy out there, when I'm shooting my 7mm Rem 162's with my buddy who shoots 300Win 208's, my splashes look like 22lr hits at 1000m, his move the steel significantly. I prefer the speed, low recoil, and high BC I get out of the 7's, he loves the 30's...even has an ultramag custom target rig (pacnor barrel) that shoots amazing as well, but it barks alot with a brake, and overbored like a #####, so he babies it. We both shoot 700's if that matters.
But if you have a 300PRC, same difference, no real need to go 300Win, just like if you have a 300Win the PRC just doesn't do anything "extra" except lighten your wallet. Someone looking at getting into a 300 that loads I'd say go Win, someone looking for off the rack rifle and factory ammo I'd say give the PRC a go.
I had a 6.5cm he shot a few times and was impressed by the accuracy, he picked up a 700 5R, no problems, no issues, but the lack of energy at distance he dumped it cheap...hard to get those heavy cal guys to enjoy anything smaller. He's got a 338 Lap and currently has a hard on for the Cheytacs and wants to add one to the collection...I'm trying to talk him out of it lol

Lapua doesn't make 300 Win Mag, so not everyone makes high end 300 Win Mag brass.

Hornady 300 PRC ammo can shoot .25moa in good rifles, so the brass can't suck that bad for consistency. I'm 7 firings and going strong on my Hornady 6.5 PRC brass, so it lasts long if you're not loading over 65,000psi. ADG and soon Alpha Munitions will be making 300 PRC so there will be no shortage of good casings.

The 300 PRC is right from the get-go
