300 Remington Ultra Mag long range loads

Does anyone have any choice loads or preferred powder that they would care to share. I am looking for long range accuracy with a 300 Remington Ultra Mag

How long is long range? I've got a hunting load that I've taken to 800 yards on targets and up to water buffalo at close range. Maybe 50 other animals at ranges short enough that using the RUM was a waste of hearing loss. Its nothing fancy, 91 grains of H1000 under a 180 Accu-bond in Nosler brass with 215M primers. In the custom Sako it will hold 1/2MOA in elevation at the longest distances I've shot. Velocity is 3300 fps, which isn't close to what some people seem to get but brass life is acceptable and pressures are far from mild. My chamber is fairly short throated and with the long Sako 75 mag I can make the lands. The tight chamber and as loaded lack of free-bore might account for loads that are well under most published data but still max.

If you are looking for a heavy VLD bullet load I can't help you, but would still start with H1000.

I use Retumbo behind 207 gr bullets in mine. - dan

93.5 gr Reloader 25 with 180 gr. accubond works for me

I use retumbo with 200gr accubonds

94.5 grains of Reloader 25, 180 grain Accubond, R-P brass, Fed 215M primer. 3350 fps average from a 26" barrel. 3 shots will stay in an inch, better if I do my part.

It looks like most of us have come to the same conclusion...........200 ABs and Retumbo, both my boy and I also use this combo as well...........R-P brass and CCI 250, both our rifles are Rem 700s and have plenty of magazine for throat........
