I am having a rifle built with a 30" Krieger barrel (1 in 11" twist) chambered in .300 Rem Ultra Mag. My intention is to push the Berger 210gr VLD @ 3200 fps. I have 300 pieces of virgin Nosler brass and all the bullets I'll need for a while. I would appreciate any load info that anyone who has practical experience with this cartridge is willing to share.

Thank You,

I.

106.0 grs of US869 gave me 3170 fps out of a 26" barrel with a 208gr Hornady A-MAX. You'd likely be in the 3250 fps range with a 30" barrel. My gun shoots very well with US869 and gets the highest MV's with the 200gr+ bullets with it.

Retumbo is the way to go for the lighter bullets. You'd max out at about 95.0 grs with a 210gr bullet and top out at about 3150 fps.

+1 for US869

I got 3274 fps with Nosler Accubond 200's out of a 26" barrel.

I gon't think you'll have any trouble hitting 3200 fps with a 30" barrel and 210's. With the long barrel you should really be able to take advantage of this slow powder.

Ivan, as a side note: may I ask if you were able to buy that Nosler brass in Canada or did you buy it from the States? This Remington stuff leaves much to be desired...

I used a lot of H50BMG when I was shooting the 300RUM.

Just be careful about pushing the Bergers too fast. They are superbly accurate bullets but not the toughest bullets made. Pushing them too fast may cause them to grenade before arrival.
