My thoughts. I have had a sendero in 300 rum and would maybe get another rifle chambered in it one day but for all the potential they have I would have to suggest building a custom. For the reach that you can get with some of the bullets available I just don't think a factory rifle, barrel and chamber does it justice. I could shoot 180 partitions into real small holes but couldn't get the 210 Bergers to group very well at all and I like to shoot long range so that particular rifle went down the road.
You are in around 90 grains of powder I believe for 180 bullets. I don't imagine that the xcr's skinny barrel would do much better than mine did either.
Also when you get above the 180 grain I do think a brake is in order if you are going to shoot enough to get proficient with it.
It's a great cartridge but I think it has a special niche for long range shooting unless it makes you feel more comfortable cruising around in bear country.
