I reloaded my 300 RUM this summer with a COAL of 3.600'' . Those were with 180 gr Accubond. When I look at various data they often list smaller COAL. I can't even think about seating near the lands , the round don't fit my XCR mag lenght.

What are your own Coal for that and what powder and bullet do you use ?

I will change powder, I used RE22 but I bought IMR 7828, RE25 and H1000.

Just looking for alternative ways of doing it.

If your OAL is longer than your magazine due to a compressed load, choose a slightly faster powder that will take up less case volume. In this regard I highly recommend Hodgdon's new Hybrid 100V. The burning rate is similar to Re-19, and though an extruded powder, the very small rounded particles allow for very high loading densities. Winchester 760 is an option, although I suspect you might hit maximum pressure before the velocity you want has been realized.

A change of bullet to one with a lower BC will result in shorter OAL, but I imagine the reason you chose that cartridge and bullet was for the combination of high velocity and flat trajectory; so I think a change in powder alone should solve your problem.
