300 savage bullets??

I was looking for some guidance. I recent picked up a box of Hornady SST 150 gn .308. What I didn't notice was that the box specified 300 savage. Can I load these rounds in my 308 or 300 wsm or are they 300 specific?

They work fine in the 3 calibers you mentioned above.

They work in most .300 and 7.62mm calibers, exceptions are 7.62x39, 7.62x54R. There are probably other exceptions that I am not thinking of.

You can always google bullet diameter of each caliber to confirm if you are ever in doubt. Wikipedia is also very helpful in this aspect.

If designed for the 300savage they may be very poorly designed for the higher velocity.

I think regular sst are designed for 308 and 300 magnums.

Hornady did release new 150gr sst for 300 savage. The shape is different, lower BC, but better for 300 Sav.

Same bullet diameter, so they should be fine to shoot in a .308 win or 300 win mag.

X2. Prob a little thinner jacket designed to open up at lower velocities.

Maybe you could put them up on the EE and trade for the ones you want?
