Whats your favourite .300 Savage load with a 150-165gn bullet?

I have had good luck with near max loads of RL 15

This thread comes at a good time for me, I just picked up a 300 savage. I do not have brass, and could not fined any loaded cartridges in my area... Can I run a .308 case into the die and fireform after?

I have made 300 savage brass form 308. There is a fair bit of trimming needed, but that is all.

i have a recipe for RL15 and 165 grains but cant shoot for now. but as said very close to max but the recipe is given from John Barsness ...

I shot 42gr Win 748 with 150g, 41gr with the 165gr bullet and 40gr with the 180 offering........Harold.......all MOA or better from a Savage 99
