300 Savage meets the (full) beer cans

Someday in the future

Conservation officer " What are you doing?"

The Kid "Shooting off the hood of my truck. Those beer cans sure blow!!!"

Conservation officer " Here's your ticket. Have a nice day , sir"

Surly a good home could have been found for those poor, helpless cans of beer!
Surely :(

That's...that's...MURDER!!! Yes, I'll admit that there have been times when even Coors would have been welcomed...or even Rainier!!! But to just shoot them in cold..er..beer ;) And yes, pictures of this crime should be posted for...um...educational purposes :)

After a dinner at the in-laws last week we were given a half dozen cold Coor's beer in cans, not being a drinker me and my son took them to the gravel pit for "disposal".
The full beer cans were kicked across the pit and then set up at the far side at 100 yards.
I put the sand bags on the hood while the kid put his ear plugs in and a set of safety glasses on and he took the first shot out of the Savage. First shot and the 150 grain bullet exploded a Coor's into the air and sent aluminum pieces flying everywhere.
The next shots were more of the same with exploding beer cans flying and beer froth all over the rocks.:D
We then went over and picked up all the pieces of cans other cans and bags that were not ours and bagged it, of course the cans were recycled and the garbage was disposed of.

Kill them all I say!!!!!!!!!!!

........cans....good beer isn't available in cans....what's the cheapest beer out there anyway?...maybe I should have a beer shoot someday.....Canadian might be good for blowups....it's not much good for drinking....the only good beers in Canada aren't made by the big breweries..that's for sure...is this a shooting thread or a beer thread?...or a beer shooting thread?

It's a beer can shooting thread, I won't shoot bottles because they are too messy to clean up.:p I think I will try shooting a 6 pack after kickin' it around to get it nice and explosive......maybe duct tape'em 6 in a row.:D

Rick,

We'd better get together for a beer and discuss it. ;)

I just read up our Federal Laws on shooting beer. Be careful! 1) Identify your game first and make sure it's in season. 2) Coors is classified as a varmint just like a groundhog = OPEN SEASON all year round, NO RESTRICTIONS, NO LIMITS!

Now if it were Heineken, I think you would be facing war crimes at the Hague!

A fitting end for dreadful beer, sir!

I haven't had the same pleasure, but I do have this pic of the shock wave resulting from hitting a water-filled pop tin (at about 35 yards) with my Marlin .44 mag:

I can only imagine the result of hitting an entire keg of beer!

I've got about 150-200 kegs of beer in storage across from my office...Who wants to see me shoot one? And who has $200 to pay for it?
Well, to be "worth" $200, it must be decent beer, and shooting it would be an offence against civilized quaffing. If it's "rat's piss", however, it would be doing everyone a favour. Heck of a way to flush out the storage room, too.

It's 10:30. I can be there by about 1... Shall I bring the 45-70?

 Stuart

ps.... Hmmmm... A "keg shoot" would be an interesting annual event. Give all those Beemer-drivers in Whistler something to do in the summer. Set up a bunch of kegs @ 50 yards offer them a shot at 'em with something substantial for $5.00 a pop.

Looking at all the responses, and as an older navy greasey, shooting any can of beer (although american beer is not on the same scale) is bizarre. the cans make excellent butt cans, full beers, although sometimes unpalatable, are nicely stashed away to increase ones reserve. Splliing a beer should come under the same rules as dropping your rifle, fall with it, to hell with the damages incurred... Now, if it was a Keiths, or worse yet an Olands...

i find buck a beers are best they cost less then coorse blue or candian bud or bud light and they dont come with all the cool contests and garbage but hey for the cost of 1 case i get 2 but one expesvive beer i like is saporo it comes in this sweet ass can thats solid if it didn't taste so good be intresting to see the differance between the thinner and thicker cans

what about shooting the keg with a 6 pound cannon that would be really cool to see i'd say use the empty keg refilled with water to save offending the drunks i a certanly going on a pop can shoot some time soon hopefully i can get a freind to bring a camcorder and we can record the spectical where are the pics of the piss cans going boom
