is the 300 savage hard or easy to reload for? i have a savage 99 in 300 savage but the cheapest ammo here in NB is about $80 plus tax. I have a lee reloader kit no press needed

Reloads just like any other round. I haven’t encountered any different problems with it. I also have a Savage 99. If your Lee loader neck sizes only you may encounter extraction problems after a couple reloads due to base expansion. I fully resize my cases. I use jacketed and cast bullets in mine.

I agree....no problems whatsoever in reloading the 300 Savage. FWIW, Reloder 15 is your friend.
It is a great chambering that really gives up very little to the 308 Winchester. Dave.

It's easy, Ive done a bunch for my late dads 1954 99. Mine loves the 150 grain. Heres how I made some .300 Sav from 308 Win.

it's a shortened .06 case with short sharp shoulders and a short neck (think AI). The military didn't think the neck & shoulder, would allow it to function properly under semi/fully auto use. They then tried a less sharp shoulder and longer neck, resulting in the .308 Win

Not really harder than any other, except maybe finding new brass. The cases do have a pretty short neck, so I like to use boat tail bullets and flare as little as possible.

There's also not much reloading data out there, but there's probably enough unless you're trying to do something really special.
