i am new to reloading and was going to reload my brother with 165gr accubond do u think this will be a good load for hunting????:cool:

I would be a bit cautious with the 165 AB at close range with that 300 Weatherby.
May I suggest he step up to the 180 AB or even the 200 AB
A close in shot with the 165 may find that bullet just a bit fragile for 300 Whby velocities.
If he must go to the 165 grain weight, he should switch to the Partition or the 168 TTSX Barnes.

If I thought a .300 Wby was necessary for what I was hunting, I wouldn't use anything less than 180 grains. I do shoot a .300 Win, and use 200 grain Partitions for moose and elk. I seldom use it for deer.

I have used accubonds in the .300 WBY and also the .300 Win Mag, both in 180gr and 200gr with success. I would also stay away from the 165gr in the Weatherby, its a bit fast for theat bullet.
I had very good success with the 180gr Swift Scirocco. It has a very good BC, stands up well after impact and doesn't seem to do too much damage. I will try it first in my next .30 cal. build.
