Hi I am loading for a 300WBY and have been using a Lee Collet die to neck size only.Im not really a fan of belted brass but gun is accurate so question is how many times can i load brass if only using the collet die so far some 5x and cant detect any seperation. sorry if a dumb question but always heard belted rnds cant be loaded too many times. any help? Thanks

Take a paper clip and unwind it. Twist one end perpendicular to the rest, like a small foot. Then slide it down inside the case to the bottom, then slowly pull it out while dragging the twisted end alongside the inside of the case. Work your way around the case, check for any splits on the inside. You will feel the drag and a slight tick if you have a case that is starting to separate. It isnt just belted cases that do this, but poor fit to a chamber made them more nororious for it. - dan

Since you are neck sizing only, you have nothing to worry about.

I guess this is true if you carry this Rifle in places where no Dangerous Animals could be encountered because the worst thing what could happen to you, you have to go home after the first Shot and then fiddle around to get the remainder of the fired Casing out with specialized Tooling like a Tap.

I advise anybody hunting in areas where Grizzly Bears are common should check each casing before resizing with a Wire Hook Casing Checker to be sure Casing Head separation has not started.

I haven't noticed shorter case life in belted cartridges. Load too hot and you'll cream primer pockets first time out. Push shoulders back too much and you'll separate cases after a few shots. Same as anything else really.

The Norma made Weatherby cases are tough stuff, they last a long time if you don't wreck them yourself.
