300 weath high perf loads

I can do it with old style 7828, 3150 in a 24" barrel. 82 grains.
A surprising amount of my .300 Weatherby loads were slower than my .300 Wins. Mind you, most of my .300 Wins have good 26" pipes screwed onto them, but that doesn't explain the .300 Ultra-lightweight that I rebarrelled to .300 Win. It was no great shooter as a .300 Weatherby but a #2 Gaillard barrel fixed that right up. It does 3150 fps regular as clockwork with 80 grains of H1000, which is considerably faster than the old Weatherby barrel did with 88 grains of the same powder.

That's what I thought. My RUM does 3300 fps with 180s. It's a lot of buck and roar for a bit of speed, at least at the current time.

You should have several powders that will do an actual 3100 with 180's in a 300 Weatherby.
My 300 win mag loads exceed this with RL-17.

3100 fps 180 grain loads are max loads according to Hodgdon. H1000 gives a wee bit higher max load velocity than Win 780. Hybrid 100V will do it too. Reloder 25 squeaks over 3100 too. Still max loads.
Several loads on Reloader's Nest claim well over 3100. One guy claims 3390 with Reloder 22 out of a custom 22" M700.

After awhile you learn the book's the book, and the chronograph is the chronograph. And that people are prone to bull####. And that others idea of what acceptable pressures are may differ. And that rifles are individuals.
I don't use 180's in my 300 Wby, I use 200 gr bullets. RL22 or MRP will give me an honest 3000 fps with that bullet weight, from a 26" bbl. FWIW - dan
Actual velocities with the 300 Wby are extremely dependent on throat..........My 300 Wby has an exceptionally long throat so my 200 ABs are seated only 1/2 way down the neck and I have lengthened the action throw and magazine to accommodate this fact so I can actually seat my bullets out to the lands.........mine gets 3180 fps with 200 ABs from a 24" barrel. I'm using CCI 250s, a COAL of 3.95 and an undisclosed charge of RL 25
As one can see the primer and brass are not overly stressed, I get 4-5 loads from a case before loose primers make it unusable............it's warm and definitely max but one can't argue with the groups.........
The third shot through the chronograph showed an error due to the difference between the screens but I suspect the 3149 may be correct but the first screen did not register properly.

I didn't know you could make 300 weatherby from H&H!!!
I'll have to keep that in mind!

That's what the .300 was in the first place, a blown out .300 H&H. Not only can you make the .300 Bee out of the H&H, you can fire the loaded ammo. Same with the .375 Weatherby, it will take .375 H&H ammo if you get caught short. Both headspace on the belt, and you eject fireformed cases Weatherby cases.
Good luck finding Winchester .300 H&H brass.

Nosler list 5 loads that will do 3100 and there top speed is reloader 19. I used h-1000 with 200 gr partition for 3050 out of my vanguard.

Actually Roy's creations are blown out versions of something else with his signature radius
Going this weekend for some H1000. I could get speed and You guys wouldn't believe the groups if I told You. Not even if I had a picture. My problem is getting it without pressure so high that my case life was like maybe two firings If I was lucky
Yep, I believe you, that's where they love to shoot the best.............right at that last node before the primer falls out............
