I can do it with old style 7828, 3150 in a 24" barrel. 82 grains.
A surprising amount of my .300 Weatherby loads were slower than my .300 Wins. Mind you, most of my .300 Wins have good 26" pipes screwed onto them, but that doesn't explain the .300 Ultra-lightweight that I rebarrelled to .300 Win. It was no great shooter as a .300 Weatherby but a #2 Gaillard barrel fixed that right up. It does 3150 fps regular as clockwork with 80 grains of H1000, which is considerably faster than the old Weatherby barrel did with 88 grains of the same powder.
