300 weath high perf loads

I have a winchester push feed 300 wby. It was regularly shot with enough powder behind a 200g bullet to ruin weatherby brass one firing mabey two. The guy that had it didn't know any better. Over a period of time the loads caused the chamber to become out of round about 5 thou. Pulling the bbl this week or next checking the action out and replacing bbl with a Douglas.

rimfire458 I would back down those loads if I were you.

I don't use 180gr, instead I use 168 tsx with a hefty load of 7828. No idea on velocity, shoots very well. Brass life is rather short...

My son uses 165 gn ABs in his 300 RUM at an ungodly velocity and it kills everything he points it at right out to 700 mtrs.........I keep telling him that he should be using 200s but he says the 165s have significantly less recoil and they kill EVERYTHING, he took a giant grizzly with it and those itty bitty bullets and it worked fine, so who am I to argue with success. That thing is a death ray and he shoots it very well.
