300 Win Mag and RL25

Anyone use RL25 with the 165 gr bullets? Can't seem to find much data online or in my books, mostly for 180gr+.
Just got the rifle in trade, so not sure if it will even like 165's, but am hoping it will.
Appreciate any recipes/info you guys can share. Not stuck on RL25, just have a fair bit of it on hand. Also looking for bullets (Accubonds, Partitions, TSX, etc) if anyone has some they would like to sell.
 
I checked the information I have schrounged off CGN and did not find one load using Re25. Sierra lists R225 starting with 180 grain bullets up to 220.
 
I looked in my Alliant powder's 2011 reloader guide and Rel 25 doesn't show up until 180 gr bullets. If they don't reccomend it I am guessing it is too slow for lighter bullets. You can have the reloaders guide sent to you free by going to their site and filling out a form.
 
72.6 gns of H4831SC
+ WRLM primers
+ 180 gn Hornady SSTs or Interbonds
= Sub MOA.

You can use the same powder for 150 gn bullets so there's most likely a recipe for your 165s.
 
RL22 and the .300WM are a match made in heaven. I'm sure you can find something on Reloadersnest dot com if you have an abundance of RL25 around.
 
I have used RL 25 quite a bit with 200 grain bullets in both the 300 Win Mag and the 308 Norma Mag. Good accuracy and velocity.
But with the 180 even, it is hard to reach the velocity that one can get with RL22, H4831sc or Norma MRP.
I can only imagine that the 165 would be a poor performer with a powder that slow.
Thus no recommendation from Alliant.

I'm no expert but followed advise similar to this (RL22) a year ago with my new 70.

Sub MOA = easily done ;).
