This is the action I got off klunk!

It is a stripped Model 17 Enfield and the replacement parts are on order from Western Gun Parts in Edmonton.

Then off to Bevan King for assembly, headspacing the bolt, recrowning the barrel, smoothing the feeding and installing the base for the scope!!:D

I have a stock and I will see how that goes!! If necessary, I will bed the stock myself!!:)

Good to see another Century Centurion in 300WM out there, shame its a remington though :p
299$s, they were a hell of a buy for the $$

I have one of those P17 but its a BSA 30-06....just as good a quality or not?

Actually it was "smithed" by BSA. All the P14s and M17s were built by Remington, Eddystone (a subsidiary of Remington) and Winchester. Pesonally I prefer the later Remingtons (without the swimming pool under the rear sight, one less job to do), but good rifles have been built on all makes. I own various versions from each maker, and aside from a possible brittleness issue with the Eddystones have found them all to be equally useful (except for that damned hole!, LOL). FWIW - dan

I started down this very road nearly ten years ago, and I haven't gotten off it yet :)

You should not be disappointed by the results, assuming the original factory pipe made in 1917 is still up to snuff. I burned mine out after about 400 shots as a .300 Winchester Magnum (but they were incredibly accurate shots). Since then, I've been using an E.R. Shaw barrel, and it has really impressed me.

Hi Everyone:
About 10 years ago I undertook the project of making a 300wm out of a p14, Bevan put on a 303 barrel that I bought for 15 dollars at a gun show, and chambered it to 300wm, I fixed it so it would feed and fit it to a p17 mag. I fixed the trigger and bought a fajen stock blank for 25 bucks at the same gun show. It is a tack driver, and a pleasure to shoot. I moly coat Steve's .313" 200 gr bullets and put them out at about 2975, I have been working too much to have the time to play as much as I want to. But I would love to watch a moose tip over when I hit it with that..
