Got a question and/or brain fart. Just wondering if a person removed some of the belt on the case u could use the shoulder of the case to control head space as you would with most bottleneck cases couldn't you?

I thought the 300 Win Mag was different from other belted magnums, in that it headspaced on the neck, not the belt...?
Edited to add: Ok....just had a read of my Speer reloading manual on this. You control the headspace on the neck, not the belt when reloading.

Just adjust your full length sizing dies on once fired cases to just touch the shoulder or else neck size only and the case will headspace on the shoulder.
