300 Win Mag / Retumbo

Lightest bullet Hodgdon lists for use with Retumbo in a 300 Win Mag is 200g.
Anyone out there ever tried Retumbo under a 175g or 168g ? Its slow, of course, but so is 1000. Just wondering.

Once I thought about it but I would go as far as 7828 or all times tested H4831SC my be SSC

Too slow but could work with heavy bullets though - Biggs

I tried it, but was dissatisfied with the 180 grain results. It does work with the 200, but you are still using a highly compressed load. Good accuracy, and very decent velocity though. Eagleye.

I use it for my 190gr smks. I think I would go with a faster powder for the 170gr ballpark, just inefficienct IMO compared to something like H4831.
