.300 Win Mag sniper rifle question?

The Sako TRG is a military rifle. I have two TRG 22's (26" and 20" barrels) and both are half minute rifles. I don't own a TRG 42 but expect them to be every bit as good as the 22's. I understand they are available in .300wm and .338 Lapua.

What country uses them then? Finland, etc?

Canada has a few with some pretty nice glass on them, many Countries around the world use the trg. It may be the best off the shelf sniper rifle made. Very few rifles can match it's consistency in the variety of conditions, temperature variations, altitude changes, and ammo differences. It's by far the most consistent and reliable rifle across the board. It may not be the most accurate under a narrow set of parameters like the br guys are under, but across all the variations it has no equal and wins hands down. No public sources to point you to, if you don't believe me it's real simple, test it.

Check out Wikipidia, shows 22 countries that use this rifle in some capacity including:

Spain
Italy
Sweden
Switzerland
Finland
Croatia

Etc, Etc.

I own a TRG 22 and have been so impressed that I ordered a Desert Tan TRG42 to complement it.

I think I'm sold on the TRG 42, especially because I am Spanish and have heard nothing but amazing reviews on it thus far. Where would you recommend purchasing one from?

What about the Savage 110 BA

And how does the Savage 110 BA in .338 Lapua or 300 Win Mag stack up to the TRG 42? They seem to be much more reasonably priced: $2,100.

Alfonso, to play the savage is capable, if you need absolute reliability in all conditions there is no contest. I had both.

The TRG is a more refined rifle, I agree,
but I am very impressed with the performance of the 110BA!
And for the much lower price tag to boot!

My 110BA (300Win Mag.) has been consistantly sub M.O.A. at 1760yds on good condition days.
Huge performance for the dollar spent!
Thats also why I dont shoot the Lapua.
To get good at long range shooting, you got to shoot allot of rounds down range! AALLLOTT!!! The TRG is about 60% more expensive! If it doesnt shoot into sub 0.5 MOA @ 1760yds, it wouldnt be justified on "my" present budget.
If I could afford it, I would try it. Heck I would try allot of the high end rifles if I could! LOL!
In the end, they are both good rifles, but the TRG just has so much more more history than the 110BA. And its not a totally fair comparison.
Like 'em both!
Have fun and straight shoot'in gunnutz!

Yes they do. Not many in service, but to say there is none is incorrect.

I have a buddy who is in one of the regular battalions. the army dudes there dont use tr42s or any sakos at all. i think he said they have some parker hale thing, some praire gun work rifles, i think a mcmillian 50 or something and i heard they used ar10s and c7s.

maybe youre thinking the not regular army guys? Like the special forces guys or something they might be more into the fancy imported stuff?
