Just wondering what your go-to powder is. I am thinking RL22, H4831 and H1000. Most likely going with 165-180gr bullets, and strictly hunting (deer and elk).

H4831SC works great with magnum primers. 178 to 208 gr bullets.
- as far as H4350 goes, that is for the 6.5!
- and the Varget is for the .308.
- and the H4895 is for the .223.

Sorry, don't mean to hi-jack but has anyone used H1000 with 208gr projectiles? I'm trying to pick a powder to use with Hornady 208gr BTHP.

I am, works great! And. Hoping to use the h1000 with my 338. So, in summary, um, it's terrible, don't try it! If you do, your ##### may fall off, definitely don't buy any h1000. Leave it for suckers to buy.

No worries, I already have 3 pounds of it so I should be good for a little while :)
I find it weird that my Hornady book has loads for H1000 with 190gr and 220gr but nothing for 208gr.

Want to try Re26 in my 300 Win Mag with the 180's but haven't yet had a chance. It's slower than Re22 and slightly faster than Re25, but more dense as it's a Ball Powder.

I have been hearing a lot of good things about this powder. The 270Win guys are raving about it. Might have to give it a try.

Yes, I have a load for a 27" barrel Sako TRG in .300 Win Mag. Getting good results using H1000 pushing out 208 gr Hornady AMAX.

.300 Win Mag
Length to Ogive = 2.910"
(Overall Length = 3.650")
72.5 gr of h1000
208gr AMAX
CCI Large Rifle Magnum primer

mines a little more agressive
.300 Win Mag
Length to Ogive = 2.885" (208 ELDM)
78.3 gr of h1000
208gr AMAX
CCI Large Rifle Magnum primer

It's getting me 2845 fps

In my 6.5X55's 26" barrel, I'm seeing 3000 fps with 140's at sane pressures. That why I want to try it in the 300 Win Mag.
