Couple of weeks ago I went to my local WSS to look at ammo for my .300WM. I just got it and want to head to the range with it. They had Winchester Super X 180 grain and 150 grain there for 24.99 a box. I bought two boxes of 180grain and was on my way. Anyway I shot it at the range and it is like a lazer in my rifle, I'm talking between 1/2MOA and MOA. So I went back to WSS yesterday to possible buy another box or two, seems the price is now $34.99!?! So I'm wondering if they screwed up the price on the first boxes I bought or what? They do this quite often with stuff, I bought a nice Browning sling for it last week there for $18, that was the sicker on the box it came it, the tag on the shelf said $39, and when I took it to go pay it rang up $39 but she had to change it to $18 because of the sticker. Just wondering if the ammo thing was something anyone else noticed?

Sounds like you got a very good deal on your first couple of boxes. $25 a box for .300 mag is very good. I have used 180 grain Winchester Power Points for deer out of a .300 and found them to be incredibly accurate out of a Remmy 700. Underated ammo.

$25 a box of 300WM? Sounds like a mistake. In my experience 300WM runs the gambit from $35 a box to $65 a box for the premium stuff (Federal loaded with Barnes bullets for example).

Well the rifle kicks like a mule, so it is to be mostly a hunting rig, I was just getting the scope dialed in. I expect the two boxes will last a while. Will keep an eye out for similar deals in the future.

The 300 wm is definitely a calibre where you should consider reloading. $25 a box..wow! I would of stocked up for that price (if even for the brass alone).
