300 wm recoil

I'll take a little more recoil before I put a floppy, sloppy, goofy, jelly-like, fuzz collecting Limbsaver on a rifle...

Limbsaver is the Croc of the recoil pad world...

Might as well add a white sweat-sock while you are at it...

And maybe a cigarette butt hanging out of the action...

What about a flip-flop? About as good as it gets I guess lol.
I find 9.3x62 loaded hot in a light '98 sporter stock with a "presentation pad" to be much more noticeable then any 300 Winmag I've ever shot. I still get through a box of ammo though every trip out....
I use to warm up with a .22 just to get into the groove, now I shoot the meanest ones first, makes the rest feel like pop guns that day.

I'm not a fan of limb savers. I find the recoil unpredictable in how the rifle moves. But then I'm used to hard plastic on the end of my light sxs 12 ga's and Ithaca 37s with heavy loads

you guys crack me up. You know, I occasionally wear white sweat socks with my Birkenstocks. And of course, am a big investor in slip on Limbsavers. I hate hard plastic butt plates on hard kicking guns, just because it makes them kick waaay harder. For those that don't mind extra recoil, my hat is off to you.

So here we get into PAST shoulder pads and what kind of clothes one is wearing. Seriously, I find the hard plastic pads stretch my skin around the pad contact patch and cause a fair bit of pain at that moment. It's not the kick I don't care for.

So maybe the OP should have clarified 300 wm recoil without a recoil pad. 40 shots for me without the recoil pad... no thanks. More likely 5 tops.

I believe I'll stick with my Decelerators after reading that fine product review.
