300 WM Vanguard, 212 ELD-X , three powders, time to look at gun?

As in my other thread , having some issues getting the ELD-X to shoot in my Vanguard, bone stock rifle.

Three powders later, MANY different cartridge configurations and nothing seems to change much.

The stock hasn't been bedded yet , I may go that route and float the barrel.

Here is a sample of what the results have been, haven't even been close to having this type of trouble with a Vanguard, I've loaded for 4 other Vanguards , all with good results.

This was some H1000 this morning from 100 yards, varying charge weights...



Some Retumbo , varying seating depths, that was yesterday.



Some 7828 and Retumbo...........



There was more shooting , at the very start I tried 180 gr Gamekings , two powders , no luck , now onto the Hornady ELD-X , same thing, zero consistency or repeatability.There was lots of shooting done already , 95 shots with Hornady , probably about 50 with the game kings.

Been reloading a while, just sucks when you can't get a rifle close.
 
I've had a S2 Vanguard that wouldn't group no matter what.
I sent it to Murray Charlton and they just sat on it for almost one year
Then the manufacturer issued me a full refund. After I have spent at least the rifle's value in premium ammo...
 
What stock does it wear? I had a couple Vans where it was folded over off center so the mold seam was a little higher on one side in the barrel channel. Easy fix with some sand paper and a dowel.
Also make sure there is decent upward force at the pressure point, if it's not enough, build it up with something....I use cork drawer liner for pressure points with good results.
 
If you’ve been loading for a while and it looks to me like you’ve tried all the reasonable powders I’d say it’s time to look at the rifle probably starting with the stock. Those 212’s shoot very good for me in a 300wm using retumbo, even you picked a bad powder charge node to play with I’d still expect better than the pics you posted.

It's the Tupperware.

I was thinking of floating the barrel in it's entirety, bed the action and do pillars.
 
I would definitely try a couple of 180gr bullets before I started working on the rifle. I owned one Vanguard that would not do sub moa, without a pressure point, the accuracy worsened after bedding and floating the barrel. After installing a pressure pad, it shot 3/4moa.

The 180 Game Kings were the first bullets I tried, unsuccessfully.

The bedding is done, I may of over done it as I went along the sides of the action as well.Also got the rear on the action at the screw to ensure no backwards movement there either.The recoil lug turned out fine, the sides would need a second go as the space to fill was too large and didn't hold enough material, this is just for aesthetics anyways.

I will be loading them, as well as some 178 and the 212 ELD-X.

I think I'll know pretty quick if there is a change, and hopefully there is one.I'm not exactly wanting a high end rifle, I want a beater that I can abuse and not sweat it getting roughed up but still be decent at range.

Anything hovering around MOA I would be content with on this one.
