I have succumb to the fact that that my trials of two 300WM Vanguards just don't like the heavy bullets.Yesterday was with what I figured was a usable load with 190 LRAB.

Had would I thought was a decent load after a couple of tests , went out to sight-in in yesterday for a 250 yard zero @ 250 yards in good conditions.Temp around 0C , mild breeze.

The load particulars are 75.5 gr of 7828 190 LRAB , Hornady brass, 215 primers , 3.400" COAL, 3063 ft/sec.

This is the correct orientation of the target.

Did two targets , both quite similar , 10 shots total about 30 minutes to do those shots, all cooled down between shots to get the best cold barrel sight in possible.

I guess it will have to be a custom barrel to get the results I am looking for.

Not posting this here to hear the bedding/pressure point/floating/shooter/loading technique is at fault.

I had a Mossberg 30-06 (nice rifle) given to me. It would not shoot, no matter what I did. Changed the barrel (a used target barrel cut down to 20") and it was a tack driver.

Some barrels are just NFG.
