Real gunnutz should have one of each anyway.

They're all good cartridges. So are dozens of others. I think people have the right to buy and shoot whatever they want as long as it's legal. Why do grown men get their panties in a knot because of whatever rifle or cartridge someone else likes?

I have a whole pile of hunting rifles and have shot moose with 303 308 30-30 7mmRM but I now have my dedicated moose hunting gun and its a 300 Win Mag, why?, well because it works for me. :p :D

What really makes me horny about the 300Win is the hair splitting accuracy at near wide open throttle...Not that you need that sort of accuracy, but I like it...I like it A LOT!

I have heard the 30-06 can be accurate ( I currently own two of them), but I have never owned one that delivered (sub MOA) at WOT.
Not that it is a bad thing, I just can't imagine myself going though the expense of barreling a rifle destined for life as a meat gun.
Perhaps that is the ultimate backhanded compliment.

To be honest I have enough rifles that I have to want to pull it out of the safe or it just sits...Boring rifles don't get shot...Sad but true.
I suspect this is true for many of us.

Some day I will grow up and take the reins...Not yet my friend! :D

Yep, I agree 100%....I've got a 30-30, .243 win, 7mm-08, 308 win, 270 win, 30-06, 7mm rem. mag, 300 win mag, 8mm rem mag plus a few others and I've shot moose with every one...they all kill moose and they are all fun to hunt with. Which one do I use the most? answer--- 300 win mag. If you're enjoying the experience, you made the correct choice.
