Hey guys

Looking for some help with a new load for my 300wsm. I currently use 67gr of H4831 behind a 180gr nossler partion and have 2" groups at 100 yards. Good enough for hunting but I sure would like to see results of 1" groups or less at 100yards . The rifle is a rem model 700, synthetic stock with a Ziess 3.5x10 scope. Maybe the rifle or the shooter is not capable to achieve these results but I would like to try. The rifle has less the 500 rounds through it.

So any help would be really great.

I have one in a Sako A7 and could not get accubonds or ballistic tips to shoot that well in any weight 150. 165, or 180. I did get the 150gr TSX to shoot well with RL-15. Never tried the partitions though, but could not get them to shoot in other cals either, although I know people have. Worst powder I tried was RL-17. H4831 and H4350 were also good to me. Oh and make sure it has a good recoil pad (R3 or after market) because it's easy to screw up accuracy if you flinch.

What size of groups are you getting. Is 0ne inch group at 100 yards to much to ask for with a 300wsm. I would think not but I can not get this so far with my reloads.

Hi, with 5 shot groups I am averaging 1 to 1.5" groups at 100 meters with the odd one a little less but none higher. I have a friend who shoots sub 2" groups at 300 yards with his browning x-bolt 300wsm, so it's all up to the gun, the load and the shooter. As always sometimes it takes alot of playing and sometimes you get it right away!
 
I had a Laminated stock Weatherby Vanguard in 300 WSM [not the sub-MOA model]
I developed a 180 Partition load that dependably shot under 1 MOA right out to 500M
My load was: WW case, WLRM primer, 67 grains of Norma MRP [Reloder 22 is quite similar] Bullet seated .025" off the lands.
I chronographed this load in my 24" barrel, and it averaged 3021 fps. I actually shot a moose with it at 388 yards lasered, and he dropped within 20 yards.
My brother-in-law was so impressed that he pestered me until I sold him the rifle. Still shooting very well indeed. Eagleye.
 
For my Sako 300 WSM the SST 165 gr with 72 gr of Winchester Supreme MLP is a dandy load easy sub-moa and great killing power only shot one moose with it but it was very efficient... JP.
 
Accuracy in 300 WSM

I would use a bullet that's known to be accurate, ie the sierra match bullet and back off a bit on your powder H4831 or try H or IMR 4350. After finding the accurate load, switch to a hunting bullet that gives similar results.

I have a 24" barrel Win model70. I get <1" @100 consistantly with 63.2gr W760 20thou off the lands with 180gr Interbonds. I do have an aftermarket boat anchor laminate stock with a thick pachmayr pad off of a bench. Averages 2950 fps.

I'm also currently trying different loads for my 300wsm. I'm shooting a T3 stainless. Right now I'm shooting 180gr Interbonds with 69gr of RL19. Its shooting around .75" for 3 rounds at 100 yds. Going to try out RL17 and the new Superformance with 165gr Interbonds and see how fair in my gun as well. Has anyone tried these 2 powders? Would really like to hear some reviews on them! Thanks in advance!

I'm shooting the same gun/calibre. 165GR TSX, 67GR, IMR4350 give me 1" at 100 yds with the occasional bullet outside MOA. All shots from a lead sled. A friend suggested a bullet turner/spinner to ensure they are seated perfectly.
 
I am shooting as savage 16fss useing 63gr imr4350 , COL 2.860 and 180 accubonds and am getting under 1 moa all day long, buddy has the same gun and shoots the same load with the same results
