Have a friend with a new browning X bolt in 300 wsm. Broke the barrel in correctly with about 40 rounds but notices excessive copper fowling now after only a dozen rounds or so. It is factory federal ammo blue box.

Post cleaned up my apologies so we can focus on the excessive copper buildup

im trying to figure out how on earth it can do that to a case in the chamber. that far up it should be well inside the chamber it looks bulged around that area so it must be swelled at that spot. looks to me like there is something seriously wrong with the inside of his chamber. which would need to be fixed ASAP.

My apologies guys yes he said that one was shot. Not sure why that pic was shared with the copper build up issue but it was and threw me off simce he is not a guy that fools around.
So back to the real issue excessive copper build up after a dozen rounds. Common on a browning x bolt??? or factory federal ammo?? I shoot reloads and remingtons so have no experience with either. Thanks in advance for the feedback
Maybe I should repost this in the rifle section since it is not a reloading issue or could be I guess at the factory.

It's clean and the coyotes hate it. How's that 10 bore treating you?

She is undergoing a complete overhaul. New black bluing and new rem camo stock set. I will send you pics when she is done. Have not shot it much this year. Bought another 10ga gold right after I bought your rem so have been using the brownings. take care:)
