I am a relatively new Re-loader but this is the first time I have had problems reloading a cartridge. I have reloaded for 308, Rem260, 300WM, 300wsm, 338 lapua mag and 30.06.

The issue that I currently am having is with my 300 WSM reloads. It is Nosler brass and it started to happen after around the 3 reload. I have been neck resizing only thus far. The brass are getting harder and harder to chamber and a lot of force is needed to close the bolt. I thought the issue was that I was having some stretch and I needed to Full length re-size. I did resize only one of the brass so far. Afterwards it doesn't rechamber any better than it did before. It is still stiff as hell to get the bolt closed.

I'm not sure what the next step is.

Thanks

Many re-loaders including myself had come across the same issue. Check your trim length and make sure your FL die is fully bottoming on the shell holder and if your press has over cam that it breaks over that over cam point. I find that sometimes it takes some extra effort to get it to FL size properly.

If you are getting a shiny rub mark on the base of the case you may not be pushing the shoulder back far enough. If your die is making hard contact with the shell holder and your press camming over you may need to lap the shell holder a few thousandths which will allow the case to be pushed further into the die.

Below your die is not pushing the shoulder back past the red dotted line, and when you lap the shell holder the case will go further inside the die.

We live in a plus and minus manufacturing world and you may have a chamber on the "minus" side and a full length die on the plus side.

Solved. Went back to basement to readjust sizer I gave it a few more 1/4 turns to really bottom it out and viola. Chambers perfect!!

Thanks all. I know this is a rookie move. Haha

Now this is the first time I have had this problem. I pretty much only neck resize. Is this particular to the WSM's? My chamber size?

The die should be lowered if possiblle in the press. If it's all the way down touching the shell holder, then the die can be shortened .020 or you can place a half donut shim .010 under the brass just to try resizing a bit more. This will help, and in the end shortening the die will be the answer.
