300 WSM with 165 GMX

Ahhh.
Time to ask those with more experience with this round for some insight.

I have IMR 4831 on hand here and some 165 GMX bullets and brass on the way, does anyone have any tried and true loads or suggestions with this powder and weight of bullet .

The rifle is a model 70 EW.

I also have IMR 4064, 4350 , 4320 & RL 22 here if you have any insight to share it would be appreciated.

I have a Vanguard in 300 WSM.
My pet load is with the 165 GMX, and does it shoot!!
However, I am not using any of the powders you have there...sorry.
My load is 64.0 grains of Reloder 17 in a Winchester case, using the WLRM primer.
Velocities are pretty impressive as well.
Closest powder as far as burn rate goes is IMR 4350, so you might want to try that.

I'd try H4350 before the 4831, although H4831 works great in my 300WSM for 180 and 200gr bullets

Heh, Heh! Deer load indeed. lol.
This will be with me on an Elk hunt this fall.
I just shot a 2.75" group at 400 yards with this rifle/load.

4350 works well but rel 17 is my pic. you will get better velocity with the rel 17 but in my 300wsm 4350 is very accurate.

I reload more 300wsm than anything and my pet load is 67.5g IMR 4350, CCI mag primer, winchester case and of course a 165 GMX. Works well on absolutly everything!
