Here's my latest try at 300 yrds...getting better!

OK, so I've become pretty happy with my 100 yrd groups...time to stretch things out a bit and see if I can keep it together!
I had 10 rounds left over from my last reloading session, so I set everything up and shot 2 groups at 300 yrds from prone off the Harris bi-pod.

Group 1 looked great for first 3 rounds (measured .55")...then I got too excited and spazzed out.

Settled down a bit and shot group 2...the far left shot was the fifth and I knew I'd pulled it a bit as soon as it broke...still, I'm pleased with the results so far. This group measured just over 1.5", so I guess that's .5 moa at 300 yrds.

Beautiful rifle, BongoBob!

Shooting longer ranges is a ton of fun... as long as you have an accurate rifle to work with. I tried some 200m shooting yesterday with my XCR and it was a real let down after shooting my Rem 788 in .222 - possibly the most accurate rifle I have owned; which is something to say considering how many rifles have come and gone over the years. I've got a Rem 700P on the way and will look forward to getting it tuned up for 300m+.

They're only 3 shot groups but here's what the .222 did for me on Tuesday. First 3 shots at 200m (best group of the day, but all were under1").

And here's what it did at 300m. :)

I prefer 10 shot groups since that's what we shoot in PR...

My first 6mm Crusader barrel that was chambered by GAP:

Looks like some good honest groups, better than i can do at 300yrd mark. Pretty sure Canuck525 was referring to The Barons targets, I always think "flyer" when I see a coin. If you want to use something for size comparison put it beside the target, not over the hole of your flyer.
