I'm shopping for a $3,000 less scope.

For hunting and precision shooting.

I want it illuminated.
FFP Mrad
Zero stop
A reticle that's not too cluttered.
If it's a Christmas tree, I only want the crosshairs illuminated.
Good in low light.

I own
Bushnell DMR2 really like but parralax at 75 yards minimum and no floating dot suck…
Athlon Ares Etr UHD
Athlon midas Tac

#1 will be a Zeiss LRP S3 but it’s more than 3k
#2 Nightforce NX8 mil-c F1 réticule
#3 Eotech Vudu MD3 Reticule #
#4Burris XTR PRO SCr2

Burris XTR III Pro is right around 2k, FFP/MRAD, tree reticle but only partially illuminated, zero stop, two different magnification options 3.3-18x50 or 4.5-30x56.

Not sure if a Trijicon Tenmile would be in budget, probably just above. Worth checking out.

If you’re willing to spend that cash, hard not to say Nightforce. The NX8 is a great scope, though the FFP reticle is mighty thin with that 8x mag range, so you’ll have to turn the illumination on for hunting in darker conditions.

Apex Rival is a nice scope but not sure it's worth the $3000 they're asking now. Yes for $2200-ish. Search for used ones.

Athlon Cronus is also a great scope, and the Ares ETR almost the same scope for a few hundred less. (As you probably already know.)

Bushnell Match Pro is solid for the price but the turrets are a bit mushy. And obviously the glass isn't going to be 2k+ quality.

Delta Javelin is an awesome scope for the price, though doesn't have the "lifetime" warranty of the others.

DNT has nice features but a horrendous blue cast that I just can't bear to look through.

I don't have time behind these but I'd also consider: Burris XTR Pro, used Razor Gen 2, Maven, used NF NX8.

If you're not in a hurry, keep an eye on the EE and on GP. There's a Maven on GP for a good price right now that I am debating picking up. I snagged a Kahles K525i DLR off the EE last year for near-as-doesn't-matter 3k.

I just put one on a new Tikka Ace. Mil-XT reticle though.

For hunting I'd have difficulty with that reticle for sure as it's very thin. Overall it's an excellent scope.

Find one already in Canada or feel the pain of another 25%
