I've got some 170gn RN .308 projectiles I'd like to load for my 3006. I've got an abundance of H4895 in my stock I'd like to use. Does anyone have any load data for this or should I just load to the 168gn data?

Now this is just my opinion but you should be Ok with using the 168 gn. data.I have handloaded 170 grain Flatpoints in the past and used 165-168 grain data but as always start low and work up your loads watching for signs of pressure problems.I used to load these 30-30 type bullets for a couple of guys that used them for deer hunting and they worked well in the 30-06 at MODERATE velocities,I never tried to hot-rod them.

Thanks,
I plan on using them for short range black bear. I won't be loading them balls to the wall.
