Hey everyone,
Recently got a great deal on a bunch of 300gr FMJ projectiles and am planning on working up a target/plinking load since I'm not allowed to hunt with them. If i was really into self flagellation i would just load these to a similar velocity as my hunting load but im thinking more along the lines of a reduced load.
I've seen from a couple sources that imr 4227 can be used with 300gr bullets but Hodgdons website doesn't list any reduced loads. The Lyman Cast Bullet handbook has one for 375 Weatherby that is similar but that is for cast. Charge weight range seems to be between 25 and 30ish.
Anyone have any experience with a 300gr jacketed plinker?
