300grain .45acp + newb???????/help!

help! newb here, just got reloading equip yesterday....guy at store sold me 300 gr. hornaday xtp ,452 bullets, i cant find reload data for them, can i use them?..if so where do i get my load info?
he was looking for diffferant bullets, said they were sold out, and gave me theese.......
at $25 per 50, i wont be buying any more, do i open the pack or just take it back? would like to shoot today.......
can i use theese?

What powder u got?

Edit: on second thought, take them back and find some 230gr
 
I think you got sold some .45 Long Colt bullets.

On most of the 45 Colt designed bullets the ogive and shoulder are shaped and dimensionally different than the .451” - .452” that we load in the 45ACP. They tend to run longer and wider overall above the shank section. This can affect chambering in an semi auto pistol.

Now if it’s a 200-grain cowboy action lead bullet it may seat, crimp and chamber just fine without to much tweaking, but a 225 – 265 grain RN or SWC may be a different story.

You just have to see by trying it, but I would have my doubts that a 300 grainer would work in a .45 ACP.

You would have to seat it too far in the case to make it work, and then you are playing with higher pressures.

Take it back.
