300wby or 300RUM

Well this has probley been brought up before so if you're gonna complain about it F#$K off. Now with that outta the way I like shooting long range I have 2 rifles i use for long range one in 300rum and the other in the mighty 300wby. Ones gotta go what one would you keep! Thanks for your time

Having owned both,I kept the 300RUM myself.With similar recoil,barrel life,and cost to reload,why not take the extra 100 to 125fps?

It would depend more on the rifle - which has a bigger effect on accuracy - than the cartridge selection.

I would choose whichever rifle is the most accurate of the two you own.

Long range hunting or long range target shooting? If it's long range hunting I'd take whatever is most accurate, but if they are equally accurate I'd take the RUM. If we're talking about target shooting I wouldn't take either.

sell the weatherby...hell ill even take it off your hands for you right away so you wont miss it...50$ cash just so you wont miss it...

I would think you would be the only person who knows the answer to this as you have the rifles..
One will fit better, carry better and you will shoot one better than the other, plus you will favor one over the other mostly because of the prior differences.
Cartridge choice will have nothing to really do with it IMO.
good luck with you decision though, both are good cartridges depending on what you are looking for.

cost per 50 pieces of brass for each. the 300 rum is less also .

The 300 Wby ammo will still be around in 10 years. it's hard to guarantee the same with the 300 RUM. If you reload this is not a problem, but if you buy factory ammo then the 300 wby is probably a better bet for ammo choice.
but like others have pointed out, keep the rifle you like most.
