Yeah. At close range they are like a 185 grain varmint bullet. While that will give devastating wound channels on small animals like deer and bears its definitely pushing it for penetration on a moose or elk. Throw in less than optimum angles and I’m not excited about trying it.
 
That’s a good reason. I took a moose with a 308win using a 180HPBT match Sierra, it fragmented but the moose didn’t go far. I’m guessing these would have to perform better than one of those.
 
Just about anything is better than a Matchking. One will fragment, the next will mushroom like a big game bullet and the next will do nothing. Life's too short for a guessing game of that magnitude. At least with the Berger you know what to expect; it"ll get inside and its like a bomb going off after that. As near as I can tell its the same thing every time.
