Hi all,

New to precision reloading and am going past epps this weekend. I would like to buy a selection of powders and bullets for some load development, shop is not next door so I can't just "drop by" for some new stuff. What would you gurus suggest for say about 3-4 different bullets/powder so I can try some different combinations? I am going for 1000 yards and shooting a .300wm, 22" 17-10 gain twist. Looking at the heavier end of the spectrum as from what I have read that is better for LD.

Also does primer type matter that much? which primers to buy?

Thanks for all your help - us newbies to the sport very much appreciate it (well me anyways).

Have a neighbor coming over next week hopefully to help me roll my first round.

JJ

More of a question of what they HAVE vs what you WANT to use.

Supplies are very limited these days.

The biggest standard is H1000 powder. Would work with heavy 30cal bullets like Sierra Match Kings, A-max, Hornady Match. You can go more expensive if you want with brands like Berger.

Primers will likely depend on what they have too.

Brass is a big investment but pays dividends. I really like my Lapua.

300 win will do 1000y no problem. You just have to find and tune it so it's as accurate as possible.

VARGET!!! in 300wm???????????? with 200gr + bullets!!!

210gr Berger VLD with 80grs H1000
Federal 215M Primer
2978 fps
4127 ft-lbs
Based on 26" barrel

ps...Berger starts at 71.5 and max's at 75.5grs in their load info but I have went to 80 with no issues at all.

Retumbo is excellent too.

I would email with a list.... I have gone to smaller shops the last couple times as they had ZERO of what I wanted.

Good luck!

Will do, But even if they don't epps is a nice leg strech stop as you run across 11 :)

Looks like I will be picking up some H1000 and whatever heavy bullets they have in HPBT.

Is the supply really that bad at the moment?
