.300WM & the Nosler Partition

Partition is not a new bullet. It has proven itself in the field many many times. I will be off moose hutning next week with 200gr partitions in my 300wm.

There is no point in shooting a 180gr Partition out of a .300 Mag (Winchester; H&H; Weatherby etc...). You might as well use a .30-06. You're only 200-300 fps faster at the muzzle... no big deal.
The real reason to use any .300 mag is the extra powder allows you to use heavier bullets. You can handload the 200's to the same muzzle velocity the .30-06 will do with the 180's. In my .300 H&H I will be using 200gr Nosler Accubonds to hunt whitetail and mule deer.
If I were hunting moose/bear I would use either the 200 or 220gr Nosler Partition.

IMHO.

Edit:
Oh yea, when Sheldon and I were out moose hunting we ran into a guy and he was packing a .300WM (Sako 75). Huge muzzle brake on it. I asked him about his gun and he gave me the story on how it was the ####... Sheldon and I were carrying a .338WM and .416RM respectively. We both kinda laughed about the guy figuring he had some kind of cannon.
