.300WSM factory Ammo

Hi, I have just purchased a X bolt 300WSM and about to start playing with ammo, first question is can anyone recommend any factory box that preforms well that I can start with, secondly has anyone had great success with particular reloads that would be willing to share their recipe

Im just starting into 300wsm as well but will only be shooting handloads. Always had good luck with fed fusion for factory or even the federal blue box. Never had much luck with winchester factory.
 
My sons savage shoots the terminal ascent so well I don't bother loading for it anymore and it shoots 109 fps faster than the box says that's where I would start
 
Unfortunately this is a pricey part of the game, and you and your gun will dictate what you need a lot more then the internet will.

I would suggest looking for partial boxes of ammo, bullets, powder etc. Your rifle will show what it might like fairly fast, or you can at least eliminate what it doesnt like.

What you want to do with it will dictate the bullet construction/ ammo you will want - target shooting, long distance, or hunting, and what are you hunting with it?

Narrow down your intentions with this rifle and we can help a lot more.

For reloading, as mentioned H4350, H4831SC, superformance are all good to start to play with. Once again if you can find 1/2 lb its cheaper to start.
 
As 9-ball mentioned those powders do work well. With the 300wsm case in particular Superformance is a good one. It's as if it was specifically designed for the case. I would recommend trying some Hornady Superformance ammo. The win win will be the quality cases you will be left with for reloading. I have a load for a close hunting buddy that shoots 165 grain GMX over superformance in a 24" Tikka. He keeps his freezer full with that. But we will be switching him over to the CX soon as the GMX have become unobtanium since going out of production. May I ask barrel length/model? Cheers
Edit. Sorry turns out the Superformance line of ammo isn't available for the 300wsm
