Don't want to derail the other thread and will start the discussion here on modifying AR10 Platform to wsm caliber

I only have a 300wsm snap cap to demonstrate the length (shot my last box of wsm last season) pics to compare 300wsm length to 150gr Remmy core-lokt 308, the 300wsm is actually shorter but bulkier.

Updated: more pics at post #8

The 300 wsm case web has been linked to case head separations in ar platforms. The rsaum is a much better candidate as the web is stronger. I'd own either of them if jp made a wsm bolt for the ar 10

I wouldn't trust it. Jp has a proven track record for making the best 6.5 grendel bolt where others fail. Atrs has put thousands of rounds through their 3 gun grendel without a failure. Others grendel bolts break.

I have the opportunity to try some factory Winchester 180gr sp 300wsm in a 308win pistol mag (XCR-M mag) and it fits right it and appears it should feed through the mag no problem.

Depending on what you after it may be easier (and cheaper) just to do a barrel swap to 338 Federal or 375 Raptor if you want more power unless you must have a 300wsm.

Or .358win. But none of them really extend the hunting effective range (3-400m) of the .308win.
And 6.5cd ain't much for moose or bear.
That's the "need" for a .300wsm or .300rsaum. But until it's readily available I have a good reason not to spend money!

Very true and that's the reason why I am interested.

However, from what I have found so far is the reliability on the kak bolt is questionable and I have yet to find another bolt maker that offers ar10 bolt in magnum bolt face.
