I like clarity more than anything, if you buy a $500 1-6, I think it's going to lack in the clarity department .
In the $1000 range,a 1-6 should have good clarity . I used to have a 1-7 S-tac and it had excellent clarity, but it's almost a full sized optic.
From my research, my next optic will be a VX 6 1-6. They go for about $1300 to $1600 in Canada.
You can get one for $900 US ($1170 cad).

I'm not an expert either, but once you look through a scope with great clarity, you can't go back

Why?

I have regularly shot iron sights out to 500 and M8-4x's, FX-3 6x42's, and 4x ACOGs well past 600m and all were very accurate.

Probably my lack of skill. I have no idea how you can see 500 meters with iron sights unless the target is 4 feet by feet.

I would have to agree as well, my skill or bad eyes at the age of 30 lol. Just stuck on three of the 1x6 scores suggested lol.

I have a x25 scope and for 200 meters, its amazing, 300, it was a little far but it works. Again, it's probably due to lack of skill. I like being able to see the bullet holes.
