303 ammo crate.

This 303 ammo crate is going up for auction locally. I plan on buying it since I've never seen one before. Does anyone know what one like this is worth? I havent seen one but assume they're not rare.

If so, I have paid as little as $5 to as much as $25 for nicely marked examples. If it was full of bandoleers, stripper clips, and or ammunition, then a lot more.

Ended up winning the crate for 38$ plus tax. Not bad considering theres no shipping. Also picked up a brodie helmet for 43$ so dont think I did to bad on that auction

The ammunition would increase the value significantly. Good luck finding that kind of quantity of .303 outside of some dank storeroom of the CAF.

You have to break it up to get the best return.
1 crate: let us say $30.
20 Bandoleers at $10 each = $200
200 stripper clips @ $4 each = $800
1000 rounds of .303 @ .75 a round = $750.

Total = $1780.

This is the system I use when guys are selling ammo in bandoleers and on strippers. Often, by the time I deduct the stripper clips, the ammo is just about free. When I get a table at a gun show, the stripper clips are a very steady seller. I'll resell the clips and the bandoleers...the ammo I always keep.

I think that’s a very decent price. They seem to be $75 at gunshows around here. I like crates too but from the other side...

LOL, I know where there are 5 crates of Dominion ammo (sealed), 6 spare barrels (new), 2 dozen mags (pinned, new) and 1 Bren gun to turn the ammo into empties. If the SHTF the owner does not intend to go quietly. All legal, of course. You have to watch out for the old guys.

I have one just like it. I keep my bullet moulds and other casting stuff in it. Gave it a camo paint scheme. Works perfect and sits on my work bench.
