303 brit ammo ID

Trying to ID this ammo I won in auction. Any help would be appreciated. I want to sell it as I have no need for it but not sure what it would be worth

I think the top pictured stuff is Dominion. Never seen any with painted cases before. The top ones might have been on links at some time perhaps?

The custom was to issue standardized ammo at the target rifle shooting associations' annual matches. I've seen striped cases many times. Blue, black, and maroon were common colours.

Possibly Match ammo.
I know the DCRA used to have match ammo marked with stripes once upon a time. Not sure of value but I don't think it sells for much more than regular surplus unless it is in the original box.

i would say 3-4$ a round would be faid for the match, 2-3$ for the tracer, but it is hard to say.

At the DCRA Annual matches, we had to shoot the ammo issued to us, not the ammo we brought that shot well in our particular rifle.

Each year we would draw the ammo for the week, and it would have a set of unique stripes on it. This way the other competitors and Range Staff could see were were using issue ammo.

I recall getting striped ammo in both 303 and 308 up until the mid 50's - maybe later.

Your ammo is standard ball ammo that was selected for the DCRA competition because it was good ammo and they had enough of it from a single lot number. A collector might want a sample of both, preferably in the original package.

I believe most would love a A peek inside the other drawers ! More 303`s ?? Classed by year ? or by maker ?

Very nice collection. Do you just collect .303? Have you been down to any of the US shows in PA, Chicago, or St. Louis?

That ammo collection is not mine. He is a serious collector and in another drawer he has the ammo in the original packaging, dating back to well before the 303.

I cleaned out my late father's ammo chest and gave the collector the striped ammo packages dad had.
