303 brit deep primer pockets?

Reloading for .303 brit. I've got some milsurp brass, once fired, heastamped IVI 97 and IVI 01. I noticed when repriming, that the primer pockets seem deep? As in, it's VERY esy to seat the primer too far . Usign Winchester lrge rifle primers. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue, and if different primers will help, or do i just need to lighten up my touch a little

I always seat my primers as far in as I can and I've never had a misfire with my reloads. Heavy hitting military ignition systems are not to be confused with the little love-taps of Remington 700 style firing pins...

And I have some of the exact same headstamp brass as you. I generally use CCI #200 primers, but I'll snap up anything cheap in terms of primers for 300 Brit.

Primers seem to be few nd far between, from my point of view. I've got the brass, bullets, moulds, lead, powder for hundreds if not thousands of rounds of .308 and .303, but only a couple hundred primers! I've got a box of cci large rifle magnum primers to try when the winchesters are gone.
