303 Brit Projectiles

For what it's worth, I've never got CamPro bullets to shoot well in any of my rifles. They're good enough for plinking fodder, but that's about it.

If your bore is tight and you're shooing for groups, get a hold of some 174gr Sierra Match Kings. The Hornady .312's and their .3105 FMJ's do pretty good as well.

Tyler, again, those bullets shoot well in many rifles but usually, rifles with close to maximum diameter bores don't shoot anything well, unless they're matched up with bullets fitting their bores. No, this isn't written in stone, because there are one offs out there that shoot well no matter what.

Bearhunter: I don't disagree. Though flat-base bullets do tend to perform a bit better than BT if undersized slightly in a bore. 2-4 inches at 100m is 'good enough' for most shooters with irons and certainly for me. Though I've horse-traded a few Enfields that shoot better for whatever reason.
I've sized down 0.321" and 0.323" jacketed bullets to 0.314" using the Lee Push Through Sizer and a good lube.
I've done the same to get .323 to .318. Have you had any issues with 'rebounding'? What projectiles work best for this, for you?

Had same done here with SPEER hot cor .323 170gr DOWN TO .314 OR SO--for Ruger 1 bore spec.

I didn't do them but sorta plan on it if have too in future..

No led deformities an minimal bounce back is my experience.

Anyone know of any .303 Bulk/Surplus bullets available in Carnada, or the U.S. ? Apologies for the hijack .

Since CamPro stopped making 303 bullets a few years ago I haven't seen them in bulk. The rumour is persisting that they are working on tooling up again for a new line of 303 projectiles

I've been using Campro's 123gr plated bullets (designed for 7.62x39) for my 303 British and 7.62x54R loads. I emailed Campro and they told me they are good to 2500 ft/s. So I'm using pistol powders like Red Dot, Unique, and TrailBoss to make low-recoil loads in the 1800-2000 ft/s range.

YMMV
**** EDIT - I checked and they are good to 2500 ft/s according to Campro ****

Yes - always a bit, and often about 0.001", sometimes more. A second run through the sizer can bring it down a bit.

I find that bullets with thinner jackets tend to reduce with less effort - Hornady Core Lokt and Speer Hot Cor being good examples.

The other thing it does is lengthen the bullet - as you know.
