.303 british 215 V 174 gr

Now those holes or stakes are interesting as all hell! we are talkin a fairly old bullet here , aint we?

Now those entry an exit holes are what i expect from that distance :)

Yes Woodleighs are Bonded bullets, given a bit of a model name as "Weld-cores" .......

Thanks for the pics! ive never seen such projectile!!
Yes they are a very old design, not made in over 40 years now, and I think the KKSP was designed in the 50’s but can check

We are working on a .303 load for a P14 with a 150gr TSX. So far load development is very promising and according to the chrono readings, it's pushing 2950-3000fps and very nice accuracy.
This should be more than adequate for moose in the fall.

Now that just doesnt sound Right my friend!
old, old and new.......... with a big 3 infront.... :D

sounds warm,,, real warm for the big 3 oh

Hello all, late to the party but my no 1 mk 3 does not like the light bullets, I'm looking for 170 to 180 match bullets, hell I'd take a 200 if I could find em, the old girl seems to like the heavys lol, any advice where to get good bullets?

.303 bullets seem to be getting scarce, Period.

You may find that the 174 gr Hornady does not always feed successfully in Lee Enfields. It has quite a round nose which often gets hung up on the breech face.

Wondering how the lighter .312 Woodleigh with its PP profile feeds.

:redface:With trading and 'deals' the last few years, I have only a :d mint Jungle Carbine with original web sling and bayonet package. Something in 303Br to take to the range for a little off hand and paper punching practice. Still have a bit of a selection of bullets to use. They include;
- 174gr Hornady Interlock RN
- 174gr FMJ, spire point (pulled from military ammo)
- 180gr Sierra spitzer
- 215gr Woodleigh RNSN
Of these, like the 174gr Hornady, the 215gr Woodleigh has basically the same round nose profile. The spire point do seem to feed a little better but I haven't:)yet had any significant feeding issues with the round nose shaped bullets either.

For Lee Enfields, match grade often means flat based bullets, rather than expensive boat-tails. I use Hornady product - the extra .001 inch in dia (0.312) seems to help.

Then sadly it's casting I go, now to find some lead and find some molds or just try my plan get a piece of copper, that's the right diameter, shape it on a drill press lol, watch the buggers go all over eh haha

woodleigh make em, always will..... you'l find em spot on for Game. an will punch papers.

I have been making bonded core .312" bullets for about a year now. I have had good feedback from the people that have shot them, but have had no results on game yet, as far as I know. A fellow in Australia plans on shooting some camels in August and I am curious to see how that endeavour goes. I am making 174 grain pills right now, but have made 180 and 200 grain bullets in the past.
I don't advertise and am not doing this as a business, as the bullets take a ton of time to make.
I will be hunting this fall, but first have to connect with a critter.
