Hello,

I know this is a bit of a crapshot, but 4 years ago, I bought come .311/.312 diameter, 180 grain or so, bullets off my friend who said he got them from Tradex. They were unique in the facts that they were full metal jacket, flat nosed (as in, not even a real nose, but cut almost "wadcutter" flat with a slight bevel), and reasonably priced (about $45 for 100. Came in a white box IIRC).

Does anyone know who makes these bullets, has any, or where I can get some? I found them excellent in my Enfield and have been looking for more. Woodleigh seems to ring a bell but I looked and I do not see any bullets that match that description from that manufacturer.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Drach

I just picked up a couple of boxes of Hornady 174gr. RN flat base Interlock bullets (item #3130 ) for my Enfield. They were $41/100. They seem reasonably accurate in my rifle.

Were these bullets like a fmj? Completely covered in jacket? I bought some 8-10 years ago from Marstar, and the box these came in were some sort of South African bullet.

I think they were designed for punching through elephants. My 303 fmj's would go about 8-10 inches into my test medium (box full of newspapers), but those South African bullets went through a 10 inch poplar log, and the box of paper (18 inches-ish), and kept on going. The fmj's would be bent from tumbling, but the one and only South African bullet I found just had shallow rifling cut into it, and could have been reloaded.

Maybe Marstar has some in stock?

Any .303 Brit FMJ will go through a 10" poplar log. Poplar is soft stuff.
Did a net search for 'FNFMJ .303 bullets' and got over 2 million sites. No white boxes. Haven't seen any for eons either.

Shame Pakistan/Indian wouldn't sell new .303 barrels and projectiles.Non boat tail.......Maybe China? Harold
