303 British/ 7.62x54R Plinking loads with 123gr .311 Plated Berry's Info Request

Hi guys, I have an abundance of Berry's 123gr Plated bullets leftover from when I reloaded 7.62x39. I've moved on to other calibres and have done some reading about using these projectiles for punching paper in 303 British and 7.62x54R. Trouble is I can't find any data to match up in my books with any of the powders I'm currently working with. I've got Varget, IMR4320 and H4198 currently. Does anyone out there have any data for these combo's they could share/or let me know what manual has them listed and i'll find a copy of it? Any help with this is greatly appreciated as I would just like to have some "cheap" rounds to make holes with rather than Hornady $35+ /box. Cheers
 
Plated bullets use cast bullet data, not jacketed for starters. Then look for a 125 grain load. Two grains won't matter.
 
As said there is alot of loads listed on hodgdons website for 125gr stuff in both calibers. Use that and work up as normal.

I have seen this data of course, correct me if I'm wrong, this data is for jacketed soft points? these 123's are "plated" not jacketed. sorry if my inquiry seems ignorant, i have never worked with cast bullets and again the only data i have is for much heavier cast projectiles.

you can still use that data, i just wouldn't go to the max charge they list. just watch for pressure signs as normal as you work up your load and don't put to much of a crimp with plated bullets. it's alot of experimentation trying to see what works and what doesn't.
