.303 British Brass

Harold, the Herter's brass may have been made by Norma. I do know that they bought a lot of stuff out of Yugoslavia. The J9 actions which were copies of the BSA actions (mausers) were made there and were very nice. Many of their single action pistols, were made by Sauer and they claimed that they were actually stronger than the Ruger Blackhawks. Supposedly tests were done to compare strengths and the Rugers failed first. I have one of those single action pistols in 44mag and it's very well made as well as accurate.
The IVI brass is good stuff. I like it a lot and keep it separate from the pile because it is heavier by several grains than commercial stuff, so requires a different load. I save it for use in a 1950 Long Branch.

I have 3x 303's

Jungle carbine with #1 bolt head
Lithgow No.1 Mk.3 #2 bolt head
Parker Hale BSA Sporter No.4 mk. 2 #2 bolt head

I've been using the dental floss trick to stop my case heads from separating. I find that I can get the loads up to maximum like this. I'm going start playing with the 150 grain bullets and venture into some compressed loads to see if I can get an SMLE up to 3000FPS~ territory

Can someone tell me what the dental floss trick is please? Would like to know what is involved with that.

I have only been neck sizing and things have been going well. As for the brass. All of what I have used seems to be undersized a bit. Winchester is the oldest I have at 4 firings.
