Hi Looks like I will be picking up a 303 Enfield here in the not to far future and reloading for it. Are there any prefered bullet weights or manufacturers out there I should be looking at? Any helpful tips appreciated. Mostly Plinking and maybe hunting down the road.

thanks for the help.

For cheap plinking, buy cast lead bullets and shoot 10 to 13 gr of shotgun powder. I can't tell where you are from your profile, soc an't suggest a bullet dealer nearby.

Bullet barn in the west . R and R in Ottawa area.

Pulling the 7.62x39 bullets will give you plinker powder and bullets.

For more power, buy 150 gr or 180gr soft point bullets of whatever maker is available. I use Sierra and Hornady. You will need a medium speed rifle powder like H335, 748, BLC2, 4895, Varget or RL15.

Those little shooty things are called "bullets", not "tips".

I used to like the Hornady's but good luck finding any right now. Tradeex sometimes has Woodleighs in stock but they are hardly cheap, the lead option is probably your best shot for that.

PS: Highjack, if anyone has some load data for 205 gr Woodleigh roundnoses I'd appreciate it.

I might start a thread entitled "30 cal bullet tip tip tips?"

A good chuckle and some good advice, makes a good thread.

Except it was pretty clear from his opening post he meant "tips" as in "info", not a misnomer for "bullets."

Yeah I set myself up using the word Tips. I should have titled it Bullet "Info". But all the info worked out great I can now reload for 303 without fear of not finding bullets. Not like the 38 S&W I was going to purchase an Enfield revolver but ammo is hard to find and finding reloading components is even harder.
